William Harjo

William is a full-blood Creek Indian.  He grew up in McIntosh County, OK, in an all-Indian community with traditional ceremonial grounds and rituals.  William learned to speak English in the first grade.  Today William lives in Livingston, TX, with his wife Linda and his son Ryan.  He has been making flutes for about twenty years.  These flutes are made from the indigenous River Cane, a plant similar to bamboo.
